I can only shower grateful thanks on this site and the many developers who have given their products for free over the last eight and a bit years. I've also received lifetime licences for several programs for adding suggestions to the Idea Informer (as well as a weird LED watch). Others have given me other free software. I've contacted the developers and in most cases they have given me a key for the next version totally free. I've had some very fruitful communications with developers that have given away on this site, for example, on several occasions I've allowed software to be updated and then found the programs to have reverted back to demos (usually when I've been half asleep and clicked the wrong button, and before I became aware that it's possible to turn off most updaters). There has been a couple of instances over the last eight years where something untoward has happened but the giveaway team were totally unaware at the time and as soon as it was noted they sorted it. You can rest assured that the giveaway team vet everyone before allowing them to use this site as allowing scam artists to use these services would also hurt their reputation. The giveaway site is in very good standing with the major search engines due to its vigilance in keeping out malware. I agree with arttronics, many of the developers giving away on this site are trying to build up a customer base for their future.
